5. From one devout pacifist to another, thank you from the depths of my soul.
I've been wanting to write a piece for DU explaining that Pacifism does not mean you are gainst all violence for any reason anywhere on earth. As some who criticize Kucinichs Pacifism seem to think.

Pacifism requires over time a large and endless supply of empathy not only for the transgressed but for the transgressor. I wish more people would realize that.

My Dad is a fighter pilot in AF (well not flying anymore he is too high ranking now for him to be flying all the time. He gets the Pacifism thing and hes a failry independant conservative. He loves me muchly even if we have our differences because he recognizes that my views come from the arena of compassion magnified by empathy... he respects that as did your Marine Dad.

Thank you for saying so well and eloquently what many of us dream of putting forth but for the loss time and words.
