18. You're a beautiful person, bluebear!

My trans boyfriend doesn't post on this site, but I'm going to email him a copy of your remarks. He is very introverted and he has had such bad experiences with people that he assumes that most people despise him and would be violent towards him if they had a chance. When I told him about our conversation, he got tears in his eyes and got all choked up and said, "Really? Someone changed their mind about transpeople like that?"

For the most part, in public, I use the pronouns 'she' when talking about my partner because we DO consider ourselves to be a part of the lesbian community (he's a very masculine lesbian and isn't instantly recognizable as male or female) and we don't want to 'pass as straight'. But among friends, people call us 'he' (meaning butch or masculine, not biologically male) and she (meaning femme). So I'm using 'he', bluebear, because you make me feel like I'm among friends!
