Statement on Senate Passage Of Partial-Birth Abortion Ban

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tuesday, October 21, 2003
BILL MAY (415) 515-9329

Ray Flynn
US President Your Catholic Voice

Your Catholic Voice President Ray Flynn:

'Today, I want to commend each and every Member of the U.S. Senate who stood by their convictions and voted, again, in defense of life. Today's Senate passage of the Partial-Birth Abortion ban now moves us one step closer to ending this gruesome, barbaric and unnecessary procedure.

'I also want to thank President Bush and other Members of Congress for their leadership and efforts in promoting a culture of life. This debate has gone on far too long and certainly begs this point. We can debate important issues such as National Security, Social Security, healthcare and taxes. But if we cannot defend life at every stage, from the moment of conception until natural death, what can we defend?'

Mr. Flynn is the former U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican. To schedule interviews with either of them contact Keith Appell (ext. 112), Sean McCabe (ext. 110) or Steve Burke (ext. 108) at (703)-683-5004.
