Listening to Kerry on Meet The Press

I am impressed how he is right on almost all the issues, but I am reminded about how he just doesn't have the skills to put the issues into a phrase that brings our how right he is on them and how wrong the republicans are on them. He just mentioned that abortions went up under Bush and down under Clinton and attributed that to Bush's lack of family planning. This is true but it alienates some people who have issues with family planning. What he should have said is:

" President Clintons focus on providing tax relief and health care benefits for the middle and lower middle class working americans allowed many people who were ambivilant about having a child feel they could afford it, and his support for the prevention of teen pregnancy helped reduce the number of abortions as well.

We as democrats have a record of reducing abortion rates by supporting those who have been economically disadvantaged by shifting economic changes and lack of affordable health care. We reduce the abortion rate by attacking the root cause, which is unplanned pregnancies and the shrinking middle class."
