221. Just a week ago today I saw you, John and the kids in Raleigh.
Was lucky enough to be on the rope line - about 10 feet from you. I got to shake John's hand. Seems like months ago now as so much as happened to the country and to you in just 7 days.

The thing I am most grateful for in this past election cycle was the chance for our young women (and the world) to see such great role models. You, Teresa, Cate, the Kerry daughters, Chelsea, the N.J. Women, Mary Beth Cahill, Dr. Rice (forget her first name), Caroline, and on and on.

Last night at my local pub a toast was made to the K/E women. The toasters were mostly men. We had been discussing the election and were upset about the reported voting results and so angry and frustrated about the abuse of voters by not protecting the results - it seems like rape. Anyway, looking for a mood change we drank to the women.

When one vote goes uncounted the heart of democracy is bleeding. Our hearts are broken, our resolve is granite. Love and good luck to you.
