Where are Bush`s medals?

I realize this is old news, but I`m absolutely incensed by it.Where are Bush`s medals? Where was he when those names were stacking up like cord wood for the Vietnam Memorial? Lucky for him that he could use his last name and his Daddy`s connections like a stepladder up and over that wall of death.

What an insult to those who served, what craven insensitivity to show up in a flight suit costume, swaggering, bellowing...as if Bush had a right to even a smidgen of honor. I remember something he said in 2002, something like...`I`ve been to war and I`ve raised twins. If given the choice, I`d rather go to war.` Been to war? He has himself confused with Max Cleland, the hero Coulter says got injured playing with a grenade.

I`m not angry because Bush chose not to serve in Vietnam. I`m angry because he lied about what he did, inventing a shallow mockery of the horrible things my friends endured over there. Many of them died, blown to nothingness. Many returned home as empty as the promises that sent them there. Bush doesn`t belong in that lineup. His soul, teeming with arrogant grandeur, operates as though watching a John Wayne war movie is the same as real sacrifice.

Now the Republicans are busy attacking Kerry`s record. Did you know he was there a mere four months? His injuries weren`t all that serious. He`s a Jane Fonda type. He made up the swift boat story. On and on. Well, let`s see Bush`s medals then. Let`s hear the story about the young Bush who was sitting on a bar stool one night and blinked knowingly toward that revelation shining in the corner. Let`s hear about how he slithered off that bar stool and nearly raced toward the nearest recruitment office...shoulders back, awashed in pride, ready to serve. Let`s hear it, Ed Gillespie. Treat us to a Bush home video, the one where Barbara`s maid is dusting Junior`s medals.
