92. Kennedy's doctor was in Dallas
but was in a car at the back end of the motorcade - not that it would have done any good to be closer.

I used to work with a guy whose wife was a nurse at the VA hospital here. Whenever the president (at the time it was Carter and Reagan) is in town, VA had an area on standby as did every hospital along the president's itinerary. I saw Carter when he was in Minneapolis once and there was a paramedic ambulance parked on a blocked off street, motor running. The medics were standing outside it. I learned from a friend at Hennepin County Medical that it was there "just in case". As the hospital closest to where the president was speaking they also had an area in their ER reserved.
