54. Thirty years ago, even twenty years ago,
most people didn't think twice about their support for the state
of Israel. Now many are beginning to question it - I think Ariel
Sharon has a lot to do with changing attitudes. He's played on
the fears of Israelis, and taken his personal anti-Arab feelings
a bit too far. It's very counter-productive for those who genuinely
want to see peace in the region, however tenuous it might be.
