43. It was during the battle over the absentee votes in Florida
I know precisely the point when I started truly despising George W. Bush. It was when Marc Racicot (soon followed in lockstep by no less a super-patriot than General Schwartzkopf), both obviously at Bush's command, got up before the cameras in the full Florida sunshine and told America that his rival was unfit to be president because he was, in effect, spitting in the face of our soldier sons and daughters by attempting (in accordance with Florida law) to enforce the deadline for accepting overseas absentee votes. That was the moment when I realized that these people (and it's far from being only Bush) would stop at nothing.
