Does "freepermania" make it difficult for new people to post on DU ?

Are new people really afraid to post on DU for fear of being called a "freeper"? How difficult can it be to say George W Bush sucks? How difficult can it be to say Iraq was an illegal war brought to us by the lies of of the Bush Administration? How difficult would it be to make a comment agreeing with the sentiments of at least one other DUer? How difficult is it to speak out against the big oil companies and their moral and physical pollution? Surely there are some subjects that would not draw suspicion as a possible "freeper"?

Of course, if you wish to post something like, "Rumsfeld is not really a bad guy" or "Bush is right about one thing" or something similarly ambiguous in your first attempt at posting, naturally some suspicions will be raised. Just something for the "newbies" and "lurkers" that might want to post something, but feel intimidated, to think about. Go for it! :)
