She was a McCarthyite, a Benzedrine abuser (speed) a Goldwater Republican. I'd have to see proof that she made millions. In her later years, she was all hot to make a TV movie of one of her books starring Farrah Fawcette, and if ever there was s sign of financial need, that would be it.
It is very amusing to note the way Rand is viewed by her supporters and then read what she actually did, and what she did was clutch wildly at mainstream success, play up to Hollywood, drop tons of bennies, and lived the high life until the money ran out. Aside from the 'philosophy' she was Charlie Sheen, or any number of other self indulgent mid grade talents in showbiz history.
To call her a hypocrite is almost being kind to the reality of who she really was and how she really lived.
