36. New Yorker
I have been researching this since I have a personal interest in it. It is HARDER to get a divorce in NY than in FLORIDA. Florida has No Fault and New York DOESN'T. You have to show GROUNDS in NY, like Adultery, etc., or, have a Legal Separation of at least one year. Florida? NOTHING.

As far as the abortion rate, NY put right to abortion into the State Consitution years before Rove v Wade. Cannot remember exact year(1972?), but many women able to afford it used to come here from other states.

DOMA failed to pass 4 times here. From everything I have read on subject, NY marriage law is under the Health Code which does not specifically say man and woman, but spouses or bride and groom. I know my marriage license says bride and groom, not man and woman.
