27. The dogma of papal infallibility only applies in matters of church
teaching. This is a common misconception of people who hate the church. No where does the church claim that any person is infallible and it would be naive to assume so.

I think the way you are approaching this is very black and white when it is a nuanced subject.

If you were told that the only way to God was through priests and nuns you were taught incorrectly and you should look at yourself because you believed it.
