57. Seriously, I wonder what happened to Cheney
Back during the Bush I days he seemed like a competent technocrat-ish kind of person, and did much to reduce defense spending. He was a gun nut (voted against banning armor-piercing bullets), but otherwise seemed fairly reasonable for a Repug.

Something radicalized him, and it wasn't 9/11, although that did seem to reinforce his grim, dark view of the world. Maybe it was his tenure at Halliburton, where he discovered that a few "wise" men can secretly make the best decisions for everyone, and as a bonus get filthy rich at the same time through friendly and non-accountable government contracts.

I look forward to a good bio on him in the future.
