Our ethnicities are our regional cultures. I, a Minnesotan, have far more in common culturally with somebody from Massachusetts than I do somebody from the Appalachia, we are different cultures. Why? it all depends on which Europeans settled first, Minnesota's first white settlers were from New England, thus we are part of the Yankee culture.
