The only difference between pedos and sociopaths is this: pedos target children using sex as a weapon; sex crimes against children is their specialty. Sociopaths, on the other hand, target anyone, especially the vulnerable, but they're more versatile in their criminal activity and only the ones not bright enough to avoid getting caught end up doing so.

In short, pedophiles specialize in crimes against little kids; sociopaths are, for the most part, the same set of criminals committing different crimes.
