You're worried about the damage of drugs, well, big pharma has no problem pushing drugs. When I worked at DMV, I noted quite a few people on anti-depressives (if they needed it or not). People imbibe, take drugs to have a good time, but also to alter their grim reality.

You don't need drugs to be an abusive, arsehole.
