3. well...consider this:
He's settled several cases for about a million bucks a piece.

He's currently being sued by 24 more people.

The police have not notified the other 4000+ hacked people yet and are just starting that process. A court order has been issued to make sure all the information is given out.

The police who were covering up the investigation have retired (one works for murdoch now as a writer) and the other is being mercilessly grilled by parliament. His claims that there was not widespread hacking according to the phone companies was refuted by the phone companies themselves this week. This officer is probably toast now.

Andy Coulson, the right hand man of the right wing prime minister has just been implicated on tape by a previous employee who was spilling his guts to hugh grant.

Murdoch is losing all his protectors. He just yanked his son out of the UK job he has and is sending him to New York. The son had written many of the payoff checks. He must have known why they were paying people off. The law firms hired by Murdoch's News of the World/Newscorp may also be found to have hidden information.

The head of Newscorp Rebekah Brooks admitted to paying off the police and now the investigation wants to know what and who those payoffs were for and about. Brooks also was implicated on hugh grant's tape for phone hacking. That is two criminal offenses right there and they have taped information discussing it...one by the woman herself.

Today the SUN was implicated which adds another of Murdoch's papers and a whole big group of more employees who were hacking phones.

The left wing is really attacking and newscorp keeps doing amazingly stupid things (The prime minister had dinner with Murdoch over Christmas with Brooks and others) and, of course, hiring Andy Coulson to be his Press person.

I truly think that Murdoch will be under great pressure from all of this. I believe he will lose many of his most valued employees. It may be found he interfered with govt. Some brave people might come out and admit they were blackmailed or pressured. If Newscorp runs autonomously from Murdoch's money, he may have no choice but to sell off some of his holdings to pay legal fees/buy out lawsuits. If he is found to have known about all the criminal activity, as the big CEO of it all...there is a chance it could even get to him. I didn't used to think so but having read up so much and followed this closely, I not only believe it could severely weaken Murdoch's news empire, but it well may bring down the right wing government of Britain. Seriously.
