You're in the wrong group, dear Sabrina. But I think you see that all too clearly.

The party is a collection of corporate hacks, twits, bagmen, favored sons and daughters, and other collaborators in spirit and deed with the Republican Party. "Two cozily-fused buttocks of the same giant derriere," as C. Hitchens wrote in his better days.

To be sure the party does not fight, and will not fight. Not in any meaningful way. Not in any but a turgid, symbolic manner. Yes, Sy Hersh is perfectly correct.

Of course there is an authentic left in the US which despises the mainly center-right Democrats as much for their uselessness as for their concupiscence with Republican scum. You shouldn't have much trouble finding it.
