Oil giant Valero has dropped another $3 million into a ballot measure that would suspend the state's greenhouse gas emissions law, AB 32. The contribution was made to the Yes on 23 campaign Friday.

The oil company has now contributed more than $4 million to the Proposition 23 campaign. Other oil companies, including Occidental Petroleum and Tesoro corporations, have given large donations to the Yes on 23 effort.

"It just shows that Texas oil is more concerned about their profits than California jobs," said Steve Maviglio, a spokesman for the No on 23 campaign. "It also illustrates that this measure is an out-of-state production."

Its corpro-populism in California with oil companies funding Proposition 23 to kill laws designed to tranistion California away from fossil fuels, and Republican billionaires and millionaires Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina running as pro-corporate populists. The best democracy that money can buy!
