71. Happens every damn day. I have seen it repeatedly
Usually its the 'real' family that comes in on the death of one and fucks the other over and puts them on the street.

One friend of mine whose partner passed of HIV related cancer the survivor only had a few months to live. His partners nephew whom neither had ever met came down to Fla and had the sheriff put an eviction notice on the door. They had taken a rundown duplex in a rough part of town and fixed it up. The nephews mother was an evilgelical and seems to have urged the nephew to steal the property from the surviving one, they had titles, wills, deeds etc.
Rather than live his remaining months on the streets(we would have taken him in) he got the gas for the lawn mower and set himself and the house on fire rather than live on the streets.
I would do the same.
