61. This is what happened to my friend May H. as well. She managed to get herself back home

because she had been a real estate broker in her working days.
She was set up with a paid off home, and Blue Cross, and had
savings to help her to live, and played the stock market. At
95, she was walking to St. Mary's for lunches and one day,
while there, the glass door swung and hit her on the way out.
She had some therapy but a few months later she collapsed and
was taking to emergency. After surgery, they put her in a
garage with other seniors to heal (was named a senior
citizen's rehab) and when she realized after she healed in two
months, that they weren't going to let her go home, and that
the city declared her incompetent and took all of her stuff
out of her home, and also spent all of her money, she got an
attorney and found her way back home.

She wasn't able to take care of herself much longer, so she
ended up at Buena Vista Nursing Home, but she did sue and was
able to get the attorney's liens off her property. Her house
is still there under her management. She is going to be 99
now, and bright as a bunny. I guess she is strong Ohio farmer
stock who got to be an independent thinker at an early age,
and still thrives. One of my role models.

It is terrible what is happening to people's homes and money
when they are old and have no children.
