Thank God Reid pulled this terrible bill. The telecoms MUST BE HELD responsible for breaking the law or what will keep them or other industries from thumbing their nose at our Constitution in the future? Future presidents must also know they are not above the law. These telecoms did this not out of any sense of duty, they did it to gain federal contracts and profits. Period. We will never find out what really happened if these lawsuits are not allowed to go forward. Remember, this was done 2 weeks after Bush took office, long before 9/11. They were eavesdropping on their opponents, not any enemies of our country. They probably have dirt on every Representative and Senator that's possible, along with judges etc.

Let Bush veto this terrible law. So what? Keep giving him the same laws and keep letting him use his veto pen. It's got tons of ink in it from all the years of Republican control of Congress.
