More Changes for Bush Administration

Henry J. Pulizzi reports on the White House.

The White House is losing two more top-level officials. Chief lobbyist Candida Wolf and speechwriter William McGurn are stepping down, the latest in a series of staff departures. Wolf, whose title is assistant to the president for legislative affairs, will leave the administration at the end of the year to spend more time with her family, White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said today. Wolf has been at the White House for six years, including three working for Vice President Dick Cheney. McGurn, a former News Corp. executive and Wall Street Journal editorial writer, will leave the White House following the State of the Union address in early 2008. Stanzel said President Bush has recruited qualified aides for the remainder of his term, including counseller Ed Gillespie and White House Counsel Fred Fielding.
