I wonder how the previous reviewer could possibly find these insane ravings "perceptive". The Bush Junta has failed to bring any semblance of order to Afghanistan or Iraq - the Taliban are once again terrorizing innocent women and producing opium, and Iraq teeters on the brink of civil war. Thanks to the blunders of Haliburton, the military can't provide its soldiers with consistent supplies of water or even decent gun oil, for crying out loud. Just how is the already overstretched military going to take on the North Koreans, Syrians and Iranians? There are SEVENTY MILLION people in Iran. How do you come up with more soldiers? A draft? Perhaps another Children's Crusade. Will we do without Saudi oil or just steal it from them? And as for the nonsense about "forcing Europe to choose between Paris and Washington", are you aware that France is the 4th largest investor in the US? What would the US do without their investment money, considering that we don't actually BUILD anything anymore? Do you think the Chinese and Japanese will keep buying our T-Bills if we insist on playing chicken with North Korea? This Napoleonic insanity is only going to hasten the transfer of foreign investment to the Euro over the Dollar. But maybe that's the point. Rather than an "end to evil" the Perles, Cheneys and Ashcrofts seem to crave the economic Armageddon that will give them an "excuse" to establish the martial law Tommy Franks discussed earlier in 2003.
