208.'s supposed to put Iraq in perspective
We've had over 3,000 of our soldiers killed, and what, 20,000 wounded in Iraq. Plus the stories of 10-50 people a day being killed in suicide bombings.

If 20-50 people being killed once every 5 years in the US at a shooting is a horrible tragedy (and it is) then why don't we feel the same way about what's happening in Iraq.

If we find out the gunman(gunmen?) were listening to rock music (or rap) we'll hear about that for years. If the gunman was listening to Imus last week the media will try to spin the story that way. If the gunman ever had sex with paris Hilton it'll go that way. They'll turn it into some sort of circus, they *always* do.

This story *WILL* be spun but the media. A good focus might be "Are there other places in the world where similar things might be occurring too?"

It won't be. It'll be rap, bad parenting, or God's vengeance for allowing gays to congregate. And it'll be a tragic waste of time.
