Some Repuke bonehead decreed that vets had to visit the nearest VA clinic every 3 months in order to renew scrips for diabetes meds. Couldn't just visit their own primary care doc and have the meds mailed to them, as they had been here in Alaska for many years.

Instead they pay airfare to Anchorage for far too many Alaskan vets who have to spend a day or two traveling to a "more economical" VA clinic serving an area with distances equal to the entire lower 48!

I stand up for vets every chance I get, including writing to Alaska's 3 repuke stooges asking for more funding and local services. That's something the right wingnuts rarely do.
