40. Horse puckey, Toots...
I scrape by from paycheck to paycheck, too. And when I need to travel for work, I stay whereverthehell whoever is footing the bill tells me to stay and bless my lucky stars if it has a refrigerator in the room where I can keep the bottled water I buy for myself (because I can't afford pricey 'minibar' water) cold.

Yep, sometimes The Powers That Be send me to a Marriot, sometimes to a Motel 6, sometimes to a Comfort Inn. Occasionally I've gotten lucky and experienced a really schmency joint for a night or two.

It sure as hell doesn't make me "rich" or even part of the "investor class." I hope my 1993 car makes it one more year, 'cause I don't have enough saved to replace it, even with another used high-mileage car. I hope like hell that my client actually pays my 60-day-old invoice so I can pay off my credit card before I get a late charge or interest, and so I can buy decent work shoes for cold weather.

Get a grip. I'm all for class warfare, but let's not define our allies so narrowly that we're fielding a squad against a regiment, hmmm?

impatiently,
Bright
