What will we do if they do? That's not rhetorical. Our troops are spread too thin to make them listen to us with force. Right now they might be more afraid of the Taliban than us. Pakistan is unstable and conflicted, and if we threaten them, part of their military--especially the part near the Afghanistan border-- might decide that the appearance of alliance isn't worth it. A good civil war in a nation with nuclear weapons between our allies and our dearest enemies is not what we want. We are already bogged down in two quagmires (funny how people forget we are still in Afghanistan).
