Monica would have cheerfully kept quiet about her relationship with Clinton; it was exposed to Ken Starr and the rest of us through the connivance of someone who pretended to be her friend. Jack Abram off was came to the attention of investigators as a result of the normal course of their work.

Moreover, the sole purpose of the Whitewater investigation was to find a reason, no matter how frivolous, to bring down Clinton; this case started as an investigation of campaign finance corruption and has simply led to Tom Delay. Unlike the Starr investigation, this is a professional and impartial job.
