Geometric growth doubles as in 1, 2, 4, 8, 16...
It is exponential but would be represented by a fairly flat parabola. Exponential growth includes geometric growth but also could be represented by other series like 1,10,100, 1000, 10,000.

I thought that with the Richter scales, each integer increase represented an order of magnitude. 'Course I could be wrong...
