This is hilarious because I've been searching for information and found this site on the first Google page, only to find that people were joking. Well this may be a joke but I'm interested anyway.

This is what's on Wikipedia--

Strange rumors following the death of journalist Hunter S. Thompson in February of 2005 suggested Thompson's possibly possessing knowledge of, or a connection to, Deep Throat. The story likely involves Thompson's 70's era friendship with Nixon staffer Patrick J. Buchanan and circulated in emails leaked February 22, 2005, from a Virginia newsroom. In part, the forwarded memo addressed "speculation regarding identity" and "Thompson's relationship with a prominent Virginian." Recent speculation as to Deep Throat's poor health were also noted. Reports suggest that Thompson was not terminally ill, although his lawyer has stated that he believes the author planned his suicide for some time. Thompson suffered severe pain caused by recent back surgery and an artificial hip



Some days it's wonderful to be a Deep Throat buff, a Thompson fan, and an amateur conspiracy theorist. Well, not wonderful. RIP Duke.
