There's no oil or at least not what they thought. That must be it. The Texas oil money is PISSED at Dickie. It makes sense that Saddam exaggerated the oil because Blix just came out and verified the story that Saddam exaggerated about his WMDs as a threat against attack.
I know that the Russians & French had oil leases in Iraq. And what about the oil for food program?
This is intriguing, but it makes more sense knowing that Dickie pissed off Texas oil money. That's the shoe you should never step on.
