Democratic Underground

Happy Birthday, DU
January 20, 2002
by the Editors

We don't normally publish on Sunday, but we're going to make an exception this time, because today is the first anniversary of Democratic Underground.

It seems like only yesterday that we stood out in the cold rain to protest the Selection of George W. Bush. Since then, we have made a lot of new friends, and a lot of enemies. We celebrated together when the Democrats took back the United States Senate. We laughed at the gaffes of the conservative idiots. And we stood together through the tragedy and sorrow of 9/11, as we stand together now to fight those who have sought to use that tragedy to advance a dangerous, partisan agenda.

It has been quite a ride. Thank you for sharing it with us.
