then it is a lot more than "a whole lot of nothing".

Anyone remember Freddie Gray? And a certain highly promising former Maryland governor and former Baltimore city mayor running for President? On reading the details, I felt it was deeply unfair to pin the police behavior in the Freddie Gray incident on O'Malley. But there was also zero doubt in my mind that it would be a severe handicap on his campaign. It wasn't the only reason his campaign didn't take off, but it would have been a difficult issue to overcome.
