(52,578 posts)of the people who DON'T support him. People who might be fine with him in the Senate (as I am) but DON'T want him to be our nominee, because they think he'll lose. And in some cases they don't want him to be our president, even if somehow he wins, because they don't think he can govern successfully.
That skepticism exists. And he isn't likely to convert those people, even if they're willing to vote for him if they have no choice, if he becomes the nominee.
They don't believe Sanders can deliver on his promises. They don't even agree with all his promises.
It's possible to be progressive, to move the country forward, without being as far left as Bernie Sanders.
Polling has shown that most Dems prefer a candidate who can beat Trump to one who agrees with them on the issues.
A lot of polling shows they'd prefer incremental change that's achievable to trying for huge changes that probably aren't achievable.
Sanders has admitted at times that what he wants can't be done without a real revolution.
His die-hard supporters believe that revolution is possible.
Other Dems don't.
Yes, we're all in this together.
And I hope you'll keep that in mind, because the approach you want, that Sanders wants, is NO MORE VALID than the approach other Democrats want.
