16. Warren/Castro/AOC are very different from Sanders/Gabbard on Immigration

Elizabeth Warren has taken a very different and far more progressive stance on immigration position than Sanders/Gabbard. Warren has pushed for liberalization of immigration policies, which is similar to both Castro and AOC. Trump and Republicans have denounced such positions and being pro-Open Borders, even though they are not.

Rather than join Warren/Castro, Bernie still echoes RW talking points denouncing open border policies even though no candidate is pushing for open borders, which is a thinly veiled shot at Castro and Warren. Of course, Gabbard is well known for pushing for denouncing the acceptance of refugees and asylum seekers from Syria.

While Sanders/Gabbards anti-immigration views might play well with Trump voters, I don't think that is a plus. I don't want Trump-lite on immigration issues. This is why I would support Warren, Biden, Harris before Sanders, and definitely before considering Gabbard. This does not even mention the whole Russia friendly views of both Gabbard and Sanders.

Warren has yet to release a comprehensive immigration reform plan, but expressed her support for Castro's plan in a statement to HuffPost.

“We should not be criminalizing mamas and babies trying to flee violence at home or trying to build a better future. We must pass comprehensive immigration reform that is in line with our values, creates a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants including our DREAMers, and protects our borders," Warren said in a statement to HuffPost.

Warren told The Washington Post earlier this month that she would seek to repeal criminal penalties for people apprehended while crossing the border.

Sawyer Hackett, a spokesperson for Castro, cited the former Housing and Urban Development secretary's call to repeal the law in April as one reason he is "undeniably a leader on big ideas during this primary."
If I were to vote in a presidential
