Though Jeff Bezos' annual salary is only $81,840, most of his wealth comes from his Amazon shares. The world's richest man makes $2,489 per second, or more than twice what the median US worker makes in one week, according to Business Insider's calculations last year.

We calculated the Amazon CEO's annual earnings by finding the difference between his 2017 and 2018 net worths (calculated in October of each year) as provided by the Forbes 400 list. But what does that translate to per month, or even per second? From his annual earnings, which we determined to be $78.5 billion, we then calculated how much Bezos makes in smaller time frames.

Yeah, at that rate Bezos made 56 billion in the last year alone. I'm sure that's on overstatement.

A new roof on your home should NOT increase property taxes. Its regular maintenance.

What part of the country do you live in? Are permits required to replace the home's roof? nt

Funny how he's able to buy mansions all over the country with this money he doesn't have

Its called "borrowing". And the value of those properties dont add up to 1% of his "worth"

Under Warrens plan, he'd pay about 6 billion in taxes. The other 3 big fish; about 15B

No, people are trying to explain reality. Not "defend" a billionaire. IT WONT WORK.

Thats cute, but the point isnt sympathy, its the fact that you cant nail down "worth"

Exactly. Exempting 75-100 million from paying more gets you bankrupt faster than usual.

Yep. That's why, for me, VAT + UBI is the most elegant solution to a host of issues.
