It's a question I have for both sides of this primary, actually. Supporters of either candidate are abusing and alienating people who disagree with them. Mrs Clinton's supporters are roundly criticized for taking the voters for granted, and assuming they they will vote for the candidate no matter how they are treated. Yet supporters of Mr Sanders do the same thing to groups who don't agree with them. Worked right, no candidate will be able to muster a sufficient coalition to get their candidate elected in the GE, which is, after all, more important than the primary.
However, Mr Dean is also being disingenuous in raising the issue, since he has already made it clear he intends no compromise. And being more disingenuous still, because it can be reasonably expected that he, as a good party functionary, can be counted on to support whomever wins the primary.
