Sort of like Lugar.
I know Biden was friends with him during their time on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I am okay with him too. He actually endorsed Bob Kerrey over the Repub in that Senate race.

Obama has a great relationship with Chuck Hagel and trusts him. I disagree but it is not surprising.
