Hi Cha...it is a very interesting thinking you have which i assume is similar to many here on DU.

I guess the key difference is i am a Progressive (Liberal) and i prefer that our leaders fight for what they campaigned on...recall that democrats campaign as progressives but they always begin caving and governing as republicans. That to me is odd. I understand compromise but all too often democrats tend to cave in way too easily without any true negotations. Which then we come to the REAL problem: "Money in Politics".

Unless money is removed i think our party will continue to stray to the Right and voters (like you) will continue to shift right as well thinking that these new ideals are in fact Left. That to me is the real "shame".

If we remove money from polticis then we can have a democratic party that truly IS for the people and not pretending to be for us. Right now i feel our party is just a lesser of two evils. I voted for Obama in 2012 because i had no choice (lived in a battleground state)..voting Romney would have been far worse. And all the while our country contnuues to shift Right because no one is holding Democrats accountable (to get more special interest favors).
