2016 Postmortem
In reply to the discussion: Joy Reid. Simply OUTSTANDING. [View all]EffieBlack
(14,249 posts)28. She IS awesome, isn't she?
And the secret to her awesomeness?
She prepares and she listens.
She knows her shit. She has an amazing array of facts in her head and at her fingertips.
And then she actually listens to what her guests say and, when warranted, she then follows up with pertinent, incisive questions that relate directly to what they just said. She doesn't stick to a script or get so stuck in her head thinking about her next question that she can't do the follow up that is needed. That's why she's so good at shutting down the bullshit.
I ADORE her!

Democracy Now! Media Matters! How awesome was that???? And I can easily see her handling 2 hours.

Didn't you love that "Star Trek" segment - and the interview with Leonard Nimoy's son?

Totally loved it! And Joy was obviously in her element - "I got to sit in the chair!"

Apparently not outstanding enough for a summary of her points or even her topics.

Bernardo, I think the OP was just to alert MSNBC watchers that Joy was filling in again.
