(90,537 posts)Obama, according to a very vocal faction at DU, "failed" to deliver on so many promises he never actually made that the number of groups who allegedly were "thrown under the bus" by Obama his own self got to be uncountable.
That created, incidentally, it's own kind of echo chamber in the main fora of DU. Those of us who genuinely liked the man and his character and were willing to wait for events to unfold ended up hanging out in the BOG for a good part of the last 7 years.
Long before this date, and despite the intractable opposition of the House, Senate, and media, Obama's accomplishments began to rack up. The actual promises he made were ticked off the list. Those of us who understood his mindset could see the incremental steps that were being taken were enormously significant in laying the solid foundation for the final outcome -- for instance, on gay marriage. We celebrated in the BOG.
Out in GD... well, sometimes the claim that one doesn't have an echo chamber seems a little hollow.
So, don't worry. Unless Skinner really means to keep the new TOS in place after HRC is sworn in, I expect to spend a lot of time over in the HRC Room. This, of course, is just my ironic take on the culture here, based on 14 years' experience.
