Bernie Sanders CHALLENGES Hillary To A DEBATE in NY As He Sits Down w The Daily News Editorial Board [View all]

Hillary is AFRAID To Debate Bernie.....so much for "GETTING THINGS DONE!!....

Brooklyn-born Bernie Sanders threw down the gauntlet yet again Friday, challenging Hillary Clinton to a debate before the New York primary — on his opponent’s adopted home turf.

“It's hard for me to imagine that somebody who was United State senator for eight years here would not be willing to debate issues of importance to New Yorkers and issues of importance to the United States of America,” Sanders said.

“We have asked for that debate. My understanding is the Clinton people are kind of dragging their feet. I would love to see a debate.”

Sanders, accompanied by his wife Jane, answered questions on topics from Wall Street to gun control to the Democratic front-runner Clinton during a 45-minute sit-down with the Daily News editorial board. In a time in U.S. history where audacious action is necessary, Sanders said, Clinton was not the right fit for the White House.

“I think what she has basically said — not to expect bold change from her,” Sanders said. “She talks about incremental change ... Is she a candidate of the establishment? The answer is, of course she is.”

The Clinton camp said earlier in the week that the senator’s call for a New York debate was a publicity stunt. The New York primary is set for April 19. The 74-year-old Sanders, as he has throughout the hard-fought battle for the party nomination, avoided any personal attacks on Clinton.

“I will let the American people make a determination about her trustworthiness,” Sanders said in response to a question. “That is not an area (where) I’m comfortable.”
