Obama's support is still slightly under 50%. That's changing rapidly, but the real point that Romney is avoiding is that no matter how far beneath that 50% mark Obama sits, Romney is seated even further behind.
Yeah, the majority of people in those states are saying (right now) that they don't want to vote for Barack Obama, but that doesn't mean that they are saying that they do want to vote for Mitt Romney.
