Ministry's music, like that of most early industrial acts, is fairly repetitive and mostly devoid of hooks. That, in conjunction with their lyrical subject matter, didn't lend them to widespread radio airplay.

I'm sure Al Jourgenson's legendary heroin addiction didn't help, either.
