Unfortunately, it doesn't. Now here in MO, if there is an Order of Protection against someone, we'll confiscate any firearms they may have and their name goes into a database of temporarily prohibited persons until the case is settled, then, depending upon the outcome of the case, we'll either return them or dispose of them.
However, this doesn't stop someone from just either borrowing a gun or buying one from a private party or, just using a different weapon, like a knife or a baseball bat, or even running the victim down with a vehicle.
Someone enraged enough to kill is going to find a way to do so, gun or not.
