The point being made is that for people, in this case school kids, who are intimidated by guns because of some trigger, in this case active shooter drills, do not have to walk the aisle of a gun show to be frightened. The mere presence of the show and it's promotion can be enough.

Just as the gun show promoters have a 'right' to put on their displays, the local citizenry also has a 'right' to give input to local government about it. That is what they are doing.
