(11,065 posts)I just can't watch the video. I know I'll bawl my eyes out. I have no doubt you made a wonderful tribute to your dear Toby, but I just know if I watch it I'll be a blubbering sobbing mess and I never even met him.
Go ahead and cry your eyes out as much as you need to. We know he wasn't "just a dog" (oh how I hate that expression!) but a thoroughly loved and treasured family member. We've probably all been in this same predicament losing are furry babies and can totally understand your feelings.
For what it's worth you did the right thing for the right reasons - as impossibly heart wrenching as it is. I've had to do it twice so far, and one day I'll have to do it again for Yoshi. The price we pay for bringing much loved pets into our hearts as well as our homes yet I'm sure you, me and everyone else here would have it no other way... as painful as it is to let them go the time they spent with us is worth it a million fold. Making that terrible decision to put Toby out of his pain and being there with him as he made his final journey was the last act of love you could ever do for him. In the painful days ahead remind yourself of that.
I'm so truly sorry for your loss.
