I was a skeptic about Malachy until five minutes ago when I read about Cardinal Peter Turkson. Most of Malachy's "predictions" are bullshit. He'll call one pope "the pope of the white feather" or some obscure shit, and then researchers will find that the guy is related to some family with a dove in its family crest. Whatever.
But this? How else could he nail it this close? Unless, of course, you count all the other popes name Piero before they got elevated?
I'll still put my money on their being lots more popes in the centuries to come. But still, quite a cool coinky-dink.
